Carp fishing is the backbone to fresh water angling and therefore enjoyed throughout South Africa. American Bass angling has become very popular and are found in most major waterways. Catfish are strong fighters and are again found in all the major venues. Fly fishing is also popular with many angels targeting the indigenous Yellowfish. There are a number of well stocked trout regions with well stocked fisheries and trophy catches. For the more adventurous there is no better thrill than targeting Tiger Fish. South Africa offers Jozini Dam, but to experience the Zambezi Spectacular one must travel to the neighbouring states of Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique or Zimbabwe.
