Bungee Jumping Southern Africa boasts three of the worlds most adrenaline pumped Bungee jumps. All three sites have a permanent base facility and have maintained a 100% safety record. For any self respecting adrenaline junkie no trip to Southern Africa is complete without tackling at least one of these beauties! Victoria Falls Bridge : This site equates to 111 meters of pure adrenaline! The bungee jump operates off the Victoria Falls Bridge and has a 100% safety record. Over 50 000 people have committed themselves to the thrill of jumping off the bridge. Challenge the limits of the mind and test the edge of fear by leaping off the impressive bridge, with the Falls behind and the mighty Zambezi below. Ankle and body harnesses are attached separately to clients. After jumping they are winched back onto the bridge. Photographs and video are taken of each jumper and are available for purchase. Minimum age of 14 Years, Min weight of 40 kg, Max weight of 140kg. Gourits River :This impressive gorge measuring 75m across and 65m in depth is home to the Gourits River which drains the arid areas of the Little and Great Karoo. It's essentially a perennial river with long periods light, but at times followed by short, violent floods. Over the centuries these flash floods have carved the gorge into the impressive sight that adrenaline seeking bungee jumpers enjoy. At the river mouth there is a beautiful beach well know for fishing and diving. This area has become very popular with extreme sport enthusiasts. Gourits also offers quad biking game drives, abseiling, black-water tubing and tandem-paragliding. Bloukrans :Is the worlds highest commercial bungee jump and has been accredited by Guinness World Records in 1997. This impressive gorge has an official height of 216 meters. It is rated as one of the worlds most extreme bungee site. With these credentials it is not advised for the faint of heart, but rather a definite must for any seasoned adrenalin seeker. The site also offers the chance to Bridge Swing as this is the only commercial bridge swinging operation in Southern Africa. Bridge swinging involves jumping from one bridge while tied in to climbing ropes suspended from an adjacent bridge.
