The
Milnerton golf course is situated on the Cape Peninsula just 10 minutes
north of Cape Town. Milnerton is a true out-and-back links of
championship proportions. A regular host to PGA events including the
South African Open, the course boasts picture postcard views of Table
Mountain across the bay from almost every hole. |
The course was designed and built by one of South Africa's leading golf
course architects, Peter Matkovich. The 18 hole championship golf course
features four distinct areas: Wetlands, Parklands, The Cape Flats and
Fynbos. With five different tees, the course can be enjoyed by all, from
championship to junior level.

The
flat terrain of the front nine is bordered by some of this country's
most famous wine estates and the sharply rising land on which the back
nine is laid out culminated in the majestic Helderberg, which sentinels
the estate. The higher ground gives the sea views over Somerset West and
Gordon's Bay; turn around and the vista is of mountains - the Helderberg
and beyond that the Hottentots Holland. |
The
design challenge was headed by the renowned architect Peter Matkovich.
His undoubted success has resulted in a course that compliments the
environment without disappointing the golfer, whether expert or amateur.
The challenge and majesty of the course should prove irresistible to the
wider golfing fraternity. Of course you'll have more time to practice. |
